MCSD Launching

 The Merced City School District is getting ready to launch a new electronic flyer communication tool called “Peachjar” on September 27.  Digital flyers will be sent via email to parents/guardians, and they can also be viewed by clicking the Peachjar button that will be added to each school’s website.   This “green” initiative can save our schools tons of paper and reduce copy costs by thousands of dollars. MCSD Celebrates Literacy Day

Students and staff in the Merced City School District enjoyed celebrating International Literacy Day one day early on September 7.  Many dressed up as their favorite book characters, and special guests read to students in several classrooms.  The visitors included representatives from UC Merced, Merced College, Merced Police Department, Merced Fire Department, Merced County Sheriff's Office, Merced County Board of Supervisors, Barnes & Noble, and other local businesses as well as current and former MCSD staff members. Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped inspire...

Ask a Scientist or Engineer

 The Merced City School District is excited to be expanding our "Ask a Scientist or Engineer" nights this year.  We have added even more dates and will now hold these events at three different locations.  This is a great opportunity for students in 5th through 8th grades to get free help on their science fair projects from local experts.   Please see the flyer below for more details.SPANISH    HMONG 

What's New at MCSD This Year?

The new school year kicked off on August 15, and we are thrilled to have students and staff back on all of our 18 campuses!  Many arrived to find modernized classrooms and other upgraded facilities thanks to Measure M projects over the summer, but those improvements are just some of “what’s new” this year.  We wanted to take a moment to update our community on a few other additions that aim to support student success.One area of focus is providing additional social-emotional supports for our students.  This is something that became a clear priority through...
