Students, parents, teachers, administrators, elected officials, and other local residents came together for the Merced City School District’s STEAM Center dedication ceremony on Wednesday, October 25. STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics. The new facility is located next to Ada Givens Elementary but serves all of the district’s TK-8th grade students. Several Merced City School District students received invaluable support with their science fair projects during the district’s first “Ask a Scientist or Engineer” night on Tuesday, October 18. The Merced City School District is excited to share that work is now underway on the first of seventeen new solar arrays that will be located at ten thoughtfully select sites across the district.
